MAY THE BRIDGES

May the bridges I burn light my way.

Some bridges aren't meant to be crossed again.

May the Bridges is built around leaving behind what no longer serves you—and being willing to live with the consequences. The oversized artwork pairs a highly detailed winged figure with the phrase “May the bridges I burn light my way,” creating a graphic about moving forward without looking back.

Classical woodcut inspired illustration collides with clean, oversized typography, allowing portions of the words to disappear behind and move through the artwork. The result feels part fine art print, part statement piece, with the detailed black-and-white imagery taking over nearly the entire front of the shirt.

The 15" × 17.5" oversized front graphic is screen printed in-house using a combination of discharge and plastisol inks. The discharge process removes the dye from selected areas of the black garment, allowing much of the artwork to maintain a softer hand, while strategically placed plastisol brings opacity, contrast and definition back into the finer details.

Designed, separated and screen printed in-house by Anenberg in the Inland Empire, California.
