The Truth & Honor Tee is built around two principles. The artwork takes those ideas and turns them into one of the most intricate pieces in the Anenberg line.
The back features an elaborate owl layered over a seraphim, merging two symbols with their own histories and meaning. The owl long associated with wisdom, perception and the ability to see what others overlook sits at the center. Behind it, the many-winged form of the seraphim expands outward into an almost armor like composition.
Hidden throughout the ornamental linework are multiple eyes, feather patterns and architectural details, with TRUTH and HONOR worked directly into the artwork. The farther away you are, the more the piece reads as a single symmetrical form. Get closer and the individual details begin to reveal themselves.
The front is intentionally restrained with an ornate rendition of the classic Anenberg Crest at the left chest, carrying the same fine line aesthetic as the back.
Rendered entirely in black and white, Truth & Honor lets the illustration and craftsmanship carry the piece without relying on color.
Designed, separated and screen printed in house by Anenberg in the Inland Empire, Southern California.
THE TEE
Truth & Honor is printed on our standard Next Level 1810 Ideal Tee, constructed from 100% carded ring spun cotton with a substantial 5.6 oz / 185 GSM, 24-singles jersey.
It has the familiar Anenberg regular fit enough structure to carry a large detailed back print without the oversized silhouette of some of our specialty garments.
